Hook-and-Loop Fire Sleeving is a highly practical and efficient industrial protective material, also known as ”Self-Wrap Fire Sleeve”, ”Wrap-Around Fire Sleeve”, or ”Hook and Loop Fastener Fire Sleeve”.

Hook-and-Loop Fire Sleeving is a protective device woven into a tubular shape from special high-temperature resistant fiberglass yarn, featuring fire-resistant hook-and-loop tape (or Velcro®) on one side. Its most significant characteristic is that it doesn’t require disassembling pipelines or equipment. You simply unwrap the sleeve, wrap it around the object needing protection, and then close it using the hook-and-loop tape for quick and easy installation.

Key Features

  1. Excellent Convenience: This is its core advantage. There’s no need to disconnect or move cables, hoses, or pipes, making it ideal for upgrading existing equipment, retrofitting, or routine maintenance.
  2. Outstanding Fire Resistance & High-Temperature Performance: Typically made from high-purity alkali-free fiberglass yarn coated with high-performance silicone rubber, it can operate in high-temperature environments ranging from 260°C to 1100°C, and withstand even higher temperatures momentarily.
  3. Durable and Flexible: The woven structure provides good flexibility and abrasion resistance. It remains non-brittle and can adapt to wrap around complex shapes.
  4. Superior Protective Properties:
    • Thermal Insulation: Reduces heat loss or protects internal lines from external heat sources.
    • Splash Protection, Molten Metal Resistance: Effectively prevents molten metal splashes from damaging lines in industries like metallurgy and foundries.
    • Dust, Oil, and Corrosion Protection: Shields internal equipment from harsh environmental erosion.
    • Flame Retardant: Non-flammable itself, effectively preventing the spread of flame.
  5. Reusable: The hook-and-loop design allows the sleeve to be opened and closed multiple times, facilitating inspection and replacement of internal lines.

Main Applications

Due to its easy installation, hook-and-loop fire sleeving is widely used in scenarios requiring frequent inspection or where disassembling pipelines is difficult:

  • Automotive Manufacturing: Protecting wiring harnesses, fuel lines, turbocharger hoses, etc., in engine bays, especially in modified vehicles and production lines.
  • Steel & Metallurgy: Protecting hydraulic hoses, cables, and sensors near blast furnaces and steel rolling equipment from molten metal splash.
  • Petrochemicals: Wrapping pipelines near reactors, pipe flanges, and valves in refineries and chemical plants.
  • Power Industry: Protecting cables in high-temperature areas like generator sets and boilers.
  • Industrial Machinery: Protecting cables and hoses on equipment such as industrial robots, injection molding machines, and laser cutting machines.
