Guidelines for Assembly and Sealing of Automotive Wire Harnesses

1. All wiring harnesses are required to be neatly wired, firmly fixed, free from shaking or hanging, free from interference or stress, and free from friction or damage. In order to arrange the wiring harness reasonably and aesthetically, various types and sizes of fixed brackets can be used for wiring. When laying the wiring harness, the specific installation positions of various electrical components and connectors should be fully considered, and the wiring should be combined with the vehicle structure for routing and reserving the length of the wiring harness.
For wiring harnesses that grow or are not used on the vehicle body, they should be folded and coiled properly, and the connectors should be sealed for protection. There should be no hanging, shaking, or load-bearing force on the vehicle body. The outer protective sleeve of the wire harness must not have any broken parts, otherwise it must be wrapped up.

2. The connection between the main harness and the chassis harness, the connection between the top frame harness and the main harness, the connection between the chassis harness and the engine harness, the connection between the top frame harness and the rear tail harness, and the diagnostic socket of the electronic control harness must be placed in a place that is easy to maintain. At the same time, the connectors of various wire harnesses should be placed near the maintenance port that is convenient for maintenance personnel to operate when bundling and fixing the wire harnesses.

3. When the wire harness passes through holes, it must be protected with a protective sleeve. For holes that pass through the vehicle body, additional sealing glue should be added to fill the gaps in the holes to prevent dust from entering the interior of the carriage.

4. The installation and layout of wiring harnesses should avoid high temperatures (exhaust pipes, air pumps, etc.), areas that are prone to moisture (lower engine area, etc.), and areas that are prone to corrosion (battery base area, etc.).

And the most important factor is choose the right protective sleeve or wrap for wire protection. The right material can prolong the lifetime of wire harness.
